The Tavern On The Green which used to be The Faulkeners at the join of Railway St and Stamford New Road is set to open its doors once again after a major refurbishment. This historic Altrincham venue is being completely upgraded and modernised and will feature a vastly superior food menu, bar snacks and cask ales. The site which has workman going in and out every day is just a stones throw from the Hospital.
There will also be a major overhall of the back garden which opens out on to Goose Green. Take a look at the artists impression at the top of the page.
Sam Foster – The New Manager had this to say in an exclusive release for Hale and Altricham Life:
“The pub has changed hands quite a lot in recent years and in speaking to locals I think it’s left the venues identity and belonging on goose green in question.
We are looking to breathe new life into the venue giving it a real sence of identity and to once again integrate into the community for many years to come.
The new look Tavern on The Green aims to offer a perfect blend of tradition and youthfulness, winning over locals with its charming decor and excellent customer service.
We’ve teamed up with exciting and emerging food brand Pieminister, and aim to become specialists in our offerings. We will be open for business mid May time with doors opening from 10am-11pm week days and a little later on the weekends.
Aside from our main menu we will have organically sourced bar snacks such as olives, crisps and pork scratchings available, along with a great range of beer, cask, craft and cocktails to wash it all down.
We plan to invest heavily in the beer garden making it a treat for the eyes, and an attractive lure to sup in all year round.
We really can’t wait to open our days to the good people of Altrincham and to show you just what the Tavern on The Green can and will be.”
Its great to see such an old and historic venue attracting so much investment – take a look at some of the photos from inside the pub:
We wish Sam and his team the best of luck in transforming this old site in to a thriving pub and bar. It’s yet more investment in the South side of Altrincham that has seen The Craftsmen and The Cheshire Tap open to public acclaim in recent months!
