The Hale Barns Carnival

The Hale Barns Carnival returns this weekend on July 14th & 15th on St Ambrose Playing fields from 12 noon each day,

The carnival will feature over 280 performers, a traditional funfair, the weekend market, birds of prey, outdoor cinema, supercar displays, a foodie village and a live screening of the World Cup Final.

The event features two stages showcasing amazing local talent with performances on main stage and a brand new second stage known as the ‘busker ball stage’ with up and coming performers from the local region.

Event Organiser Max Eden of Hale Barns Events said ahead of the event:

“This really is going to be a big weekend of events, I say every time that this is the biggest event Hale Barns has ever seen and this year it’s gone to a whole new level. we are always trying to evolve and grow our event and this year we have been lucky enough to be able to do that thanks to the support from our sponsors; including Benchmark Security and Duerrs Jam and with vital grant funding from The National Lottery”.

Daytime Entertainment

The funfair was a huge hit last year and this year it’s grown in size with more rides and experiences, including a great mix of both small and bigger boisterous rides to provide thrills for all ages.

The Saturday daytime is a celebration of all things music with everything from singer/songwriters to huge choirs and everything in between.

Scarlett Quigley, Star of this year’s ITV show The Voice UK will be performing a Proms set while Trafford’s most famous Rat Pack Singer, Wayne Devlin will be adding a touch of Sinatra to the free entry event.

Both days will include star attractions with Saturday featuring a new motor paddock which will feature beautiful classic cars including a couple of very special supercars. James Bond’s very own Aston Martin, the actual car used in the latest movie Spectre.

Saturday will showcase a brand new Birds of Prey display from local display team ‘Raptor Experience’, with a chance to meet the birds up close and learn more about these fascinating creatures from experts on hand throughout the day.

The weekend market returns on both days and there’s a new foodie village with scrumptious artisan food and a great selection of bars from local brewery Robinsons.

Sunday is jam jam-packed family entertainment with everything from superhero appearances, breathtaking dance showcases and a selection of great party bands.

Sunday will also feature a (new for this year) outdoor cinema screening of Disney’s ‘Beauty and The Beast’ complete with a live princess show just before it starts. There is also the chance to meet your favourite princesses from the popular films and even get a photo together to cherish the occasion.

The outdoor cinema will feature a large LED screen with popcorn and refreshments available to make it the perfect free family movie experience.

The World Cup Final

Later on the Sunday afternoon, the World Cup Final will be broadcast live on the Big Screen thanks to sponsors Benchmark Security and Robinson’s Brewery. The World Cup Zone will be the perfect place to catch the game with activities, refreshments and a few surprises planned. Who knows, it might be England’s year?

As the free entry day events draw to a close, the parties are only just getting started with two big concerts featuring award-winning tribute artists on both nights.

Evening Concerts

Saturday night sees ‘Best Brits Live’ coming to Hale Barns with David Bowie, George Michael and The Beatles tributes performing. Sunday nights concert brings the Ultimate Disco to the village with ABBA, The Bee Gees and Diana Ross tributes taking to the main stage.

Both evening concerts conclude with spectacular firework displays!

Evening tickets and concert weekend passes can be purchased at or at various ticket outlets locally including Oxfam Hale Barns, The Bulls Head in Hale Barns and Now Financial in Hale Village, or purchased on the day at the box office.

Entry is free from 12 noon-5pm – both days.

The evening tickets are £20 for adults and £5 for Children or you can get a weekend pass which is £30 for adults and £10 for Children and that gives access to both big nights.
